OverviewWrapping your hair with a scarf is a great way to add spice to almost any look. This adds great appeal while wearing a swimsuit on a nice day at the beach. It also adds function by keeping your hair out of your face or covering it altogether if you’re running short on time. Casual of formal, you can sport a scarf with any look by simply changing the pattern and colors you use.Step 1Prep you hair to an appropriate shape. To capture an appealing look with a scarf wrapped around your hair it’s important to secure your hair in a fashion that isn’t bulky. Slick back your hair with light hairspray to diminish lingering frizz. If your hair is shoulder length you can create a small bun at the nape of your neck. If your hair is longer, you may need to create several small buns toward the bottom of your head. Use bobby pins to secure them in place to create a flat shape rather than a round one.Step 2Prepare your scarf by placing it onto a flat surface. Fold the scarf in half by dragging one corner diagonally to the opposite corner. This will create a triangle shape.Step 3Position the scarf on your head. Grab the two opposing corners on the long end of the scarf. With a corner in each hand, place the scarf on top of your head with the remaining point hanging down the back of your neck. Place the long end of your scarf across the middle of your forehead.Step 4Tie off the scarf. Now that you have the scarf positioned in front of your forehead with the remainder hanging over your head, bring the two corners in your hands together behind you. Tie a knot to keep the scarf in place. The knot should be created over the surface of the scarf that is hanging toward your neck. Make sure to tie the knot low so that it covers all of your hair.Step 5Shape the scarf. There now should be three corner tails hanging from the back of your head. Gather each of the tails together into one. Gently twist them all clockwise and shape the fabric into a bun.Step 6Secure the scarf. Tuck the bun you’ve created underneath the back edge of the scarf, and use a bobby pin to secure the tip of the scarf to your hair. In addition, you may use bobby pins to secure the scarf anywhere else along your hairline that you feel is necessary.skill2ingredientLarge square scarf
