How to Make Homemade Teacher Birthday Gifts
By Smehta Hose
OverviewWe all have that one teacher whose class we genuinely enjoyed and from which we took away a life lesson. What better way to let that teacher know how much you appreciate all that they have done for you and your classmates than to create a homemade birthday gift? Making a homemade gift rather than just buying one reflects that you put time and effort into creating a memorable gift for your favorite teacher. It also allows you to personalize the gift according to the teacher and his or her class to create a lasting impression.Step 1Bake a birthday cake with your teacher’s favorite filling. You can design the cake to look like a blackboard, or the theme can be related to a hobby or interest your teacher has, such as an instrument shape if your teacher likes to play music. See References for ideas on cake designs. Alternatively, you can also bake cookies or other edibles such as pie. Be sure to personalize the cake with “Happy Birthday” and your teacher’s name.Step 2Collect pictures of your teacher and students over the course of the year and put together a collage of memories in a photo album for your teacher to cherish for years to come.Step 3Create a video that consists of messages each student has for the teacher, wishing him a happy birthday. Take footage of the school and classroom and have students share their memories of their time in class.Step 4Create a birthday card that includes a class photo and signatures of all your classmates. If you like scrapbooking and cardmaking, you can become creative and design a meaningful personalized birthday message on the card. Include a poem or verse telling your teacher how much you appreciate him or her. See References for verse ideas.skill3ingredientBirthday cake, cookies or pie
