OverviewOne of the most important parts of planning a child’s birthday party is the invitations that you will send. Here’s how you can make creative invitation cards for your child’s next party.Step 1Make a guest list and consider personalizing each invitation with a graphic that represents something important to the guest. Involve your child in the design process. Have the child sketch out a basic idea on paper. Help your child write a personal invitation for guests.Step 2Open Microsoft Word. Go to the “File” menu and choose “New.” Select “Template” and browse to the online templates. Select “Invitations” and “Parties.” Select a layout.Step 3Customize the template by adding your own graphics or a picture of your child. Allow your child to choose the font style and color and pick a border for the card as well. Be sure to include, in big letters, the date, time and location of the party. Let guests know what treats will be provided.Step 4Save your invitation to your computer, then select “Print” from the “File” menu. You can print your invitations on regular paper or use glossy paper for a more professional look. Use standard-size computer paper. Follow any special folding instructions indicated by the template you use.skill2ingredientMicrosoft Word or other word-processing or desktop publishing software
