OverviewMaking a shoebox guitar is a fun and easy activity to do with children. It is a great way to re-purpose a shoebox and use some of the spare elastics you have around the house. It is an easy enough activity that children can do it by themselves as long as they have supervision when using the scissors.Step 1Trace a circle about three or four inches wide on the lid of the shoebox. You can trace a can or a container lid if you would like a guide.Step 2Cut out the circle from the lid of the shoebox using your scissors. There should be a circular hole in the lid now.Step 3Put the lid back on the shoebox. Put the rubber bands around the box lengthwise and spaced evenly apart.Step 4Slide your pen or pencil under all the elastic bands at one end of the box, making sure it is next to the hole you cut in the lid, but not over it.Step 5Strum your guitar!skill1ingredientA shoebox
