OverviewDeciding on how to decorate your wedding reception hall will depend on what type of wedding you are having, what your budget is for the decorations and how elaborate you want the look and feel of the reception hall to be. The overall decor of a reception hall creates an ambience and sets the tone for the wedding. Many brides choose to simply incorporate their wedding colors in the decor, while others have a theme that the decor will revolve around. There are some basic elements that are generally decorated in a wedding reception hall.Step 1Decorate the entrance of the venue. You can add statues, indoor fountains or ice scultpures. Place a table for the guest book, wish bowl, sign in tree or photo mat. If you have assigned seating, add another table for the place cards. Arrange the place cards in alphabetical order in rows or in a circle. Decorate both tables with things such as flower petals or wedding confetti.Step 2Set up a sweetheart table for the bride and groom. You can add fairy lights inside draped organza fabric around the table. Add candles and petals. Create a backdrop behind the table with draped fabric and par lights. You can add some colored lighting by using colored par cans.Step 3Cover tables with table linens. You can go with white for a clean cut, traditional look, add some color or even alternate between two colors. You can also add table overlays and runners for an elegant layered look. Depending on the type of chairs you are renting, you may want to use chair covers if the chairs are old or if you want to want to match your table linen. You can choose from tie back chair covers or regular ones. Add a sash or clip to make it more appealing. Chivari chairs are formal and do not require any covers.Step 4Add centerpieces to each table. You can use flowers in vases surrounded by votives to light up the room. Alternatively, if you’re on a tight budget and don’t want to spend a lot on flowers, you can use candle centerpieces, such as floating candles in a glass bowl or candelabras. Some brides even have mini versions of their wedding cake as the centerpiece.Step 5Decorate the cake table by draping layers of fabric around the table. Add flower petals and votives around the table. You can also incorporate fairy lights in the table skirt to light up the table.skill3ingredientGuest book table
