Homemade recipes for flaky, dry skin are simple to prepare and easy to apply. Using many typical household items, you can treat your affected areas–on your face or anywhere on your body–without expensive over-the-counter, chemical-filled moisturizers.Fruit scrubPuree a banana, papaya and either a peach or avocado in a blender. Massage into the skin and allow the mixture to set for 20 minutes. This will remove the flaky skin. Rinse with a mild soap and warm water, and follow the fruit bath with margarine or vegetable oil as a moisturizer.Honey applicationTake a hot shower or bath to thoroughly open pores. Apply honey on the affected area and allow it to dry. Rinse with water to remove the honey.Milk creamBoil whole milk for two to three minutes and cover with a lid. After 20 to 30 minutes, a layer of fat will float to the top of the milk. Skim off the fat and using a mixer, turn it into cream. Apply to flaky, dry skin and leave it on for a couple of hours. Use mild soap and warm water to remove the milk cream.Other oilsCoconut, almond, olive and sesame oil all can be applied to dry skin as a moisturizer. Let the oil soak in the affected areas for 20 minutes. Use mild soap and warm water to remove the excess oil.ResourcesreferenceFlawlescomplexion.comreferenceHoney blogreferenceMilk creamresourceHimalaya Home Remedies
