OverviewTaking the whole family on the road to a new destination is a great way to celebrate spring break. Think about the kinds of activities your family likes and go from there. Popular spring break destinations include beaches, lakes, campgrounds, theme parks and resorts, and exotic locales. Where you choose to have your spring break depends on things like budget, location and whether or not you need to keep in touch with the office. If you’re glued to your laptop and have a hard time relaxing, it might be hard to camp in the mountains, where Internet access may be restricted.Theme ParksDisneyland in California and the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida are family-friendly destinations that are meant for kids. Both parks have packages that include hotel accommodations and multiple-day passes to enjoy the parks. Six Flags has 20 parks across the United States, Canada, Mexico and is expanding to Dubai and Qatar. San Diego, California, is also a good bet for families, because there is Sea World, Lego Land and the famous San Diego Zoo and Animal Wildlife Park.CampingCamping is a very budget-friendly idea for a family vacation. There are camping spots all over the United States. There are Yosemite National Forest and Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park in California, both of which have special activities for kids. There’s also Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, the Grand Canyon in Arizona, Acadia National Park in Maine and Zion National Park in Utah. Besides the big national parks, there are thousands of smaller campgrounds all over the country.BeachesRenting a beach house for a week or two is a great idea for a family with kids. Many beach towns have small carnivals as well as parks and activities for kids during spring break. For example, Seaside, Oregon, is a small beach town with a small-town flavor. The beaches of Southern California and Florida are popular spring break destinations, and since they are all close to big cities, there’s no shortage of things to do, including movie theaters, concerts and shopping.Casino TownsLas Vegas and Atlantic City are great spots for kids because they cater to families. Both cities not only have gambling and showgirls for the adults, but they also have amusement park rides and video arcades for the kids. Atlantic City, in particular, may be an attractive option for people who live on the East Coast because of its lively boardwalk. It includes an art center and a historical museum. For those who choose Las Vegas, Circus Circus or Excalibur Hotel are great choices for kids, with lots of video games and other things for kids to do.CruisesIf you have children of varying ages, you may want to consider taking a cruise with a family-friendly cruise line. These cruise lines have babysitting services, programs and activities for children and teens, and many different destinations. You can take a cruise to the Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska, Europe, or wherever you and your family feel like going. Make sure your cruise line has special prices for families and plenty of activities like pools and arcades on the ship.ResourcesreferenceSix Flagsreference15 Most Popular National ParksreferenceAtlantic City BoardwalkresourceFamily Cruises
