OverviewCustom car audio is one of the more popular customization options used by consumers. Many owner’s are disappointed with their car’s stock stereo system and feel the need to improve the sound quality or the volume output. There are many ways too customize a car’s audio system.Step 1Disconnect the negative battery cable for safety. If you are installing an amplifier, mount the amp in the trunk of the vehicle, on the same side as the battery. Run the main power cable from the positive battery terminal through the firewall and under the floorboard carpet to connect to the amp. Use the wire cutters to cut any excess length from the cable.Step 2Run the radio power on/off cable from the amplifier on the opposite side and connect to the rear of the stereo. Ground the amp with the supplied grounding wire to a metal bolt in your vehicle’s trunk.Step 3Remove the interior door panels and unhook the old speakers. Mount the new speakers in their place and attach the connections. If you are increasing speaker size, you will need new speaker-mounting frames.Step 4Remove the trim panel surround from your in-dash stereo. Remove the bolts (usually four) mounting your stereo in the dash. Disconnect the wiring harness from the rear of the stereo and unplug the antenna. Install the new stereo in its place, using the wiring harness specific to your vehicle. Attach the cable from the amplifier.skill3ingredientAmplifier (optional)
