OverviewCoffee is one of the most popular drinks in the world and second only to tap water in the United States. Some people can drink any blend of coffee, especially those who drink coffee primarily in the morning and in moderation. The true coffee connoisseur, however, is particular about the coffee he or she drinks. The origin and roast of the coffee is of primary importance when choosing just the right coffee beans. Here are a few tips to help you decide which coffee beans to choose for your own kitchen.Step 1Choose pure Arabica whenever possible. Robusta beans are cheaper and produce a bitter taste, but are typically higher in caffeine content. Coffees made with 100 percent Arabica are smoother and produce a much better cup of coffee. Always choose Arabica.Step 2Choose a light or medium roast bean if you’re looking for higher caffeine content. Many people believe the darker the roast, the stronger the coffee. This is true to an extent. The flavors are stronger, but if you’re looking for a caffeine jolt, stick with lighter roasted beans. The longer beans are roasted, the darker they get and the more oils they produce. The caffeine content is released with the oil.Step 3Use a medium roast bean for espresso drinks. Extremely dark roasted beans produce coffee with smokier overtones, which is typically not a good match for an espresso drink. A medium dark roast produces beans with sweeter overtones, complimentary to espresso or espresso-based drinks. Use the darker roasts, such as Italian or French, for pressed coffee drinks.skill3keywordcoffee beans roast arabica robusta javakeywordscoffeekeywordsbeanskeywordsroastkeywordsarabicakeywordsrobustakeywordsjavaResourcesreferencerobusta VS ArabicareferenceCoffee Roast Colors and Characteristics.
