Making a Holiday Flower Arrangement
Fresh flowers are not just for spring and summer; creating holiday flower arrangements brings a new element to your festive décor. Amaryllis at Christmas and lilies at Easter make the celebrations all the merrier!

OverviewNothing brightens a room like flowers, and creating this inexpensive holiday flower arrangement is an easy way to do it. The flowers draw festive warmth from the rich glow of cranberries in the vase. When the weather warms up, adapt the filler to suit another occasion and keep your spirits bright all year long.Step 1Wash and dry the two glasses then nest one inside the other, centering the smaller one inside the larger.Step 2Drop the cranberries into the space between the two glasses. Insert enough cranberries to fill all sides of the glass up to the rim. The outer vase should appear to be completely filled with cranberries.Step 3Fill the inner glass with water, taking care to not dampen the cranberries. Leave 2 inches of the inner glass unfilled.Step 4Under running water, use the scissors to individually trim the stems of the red flowers. Cut on the diagonal, leaving the stem just longer than the height of the inner glass.Step 5Immediately insert the flower into the vase. When in place, the flower head should rest just above the lip of the vase, obscuring it from sight.Step 6Repeat this process with the white flowers, interspersing them among the red ones.Step 7Check the water level in your arrangement daily and add additional water as needed.Step 8Replace the water if it becomes cloudy.
