A father-of-five who has struggled with debts since arriving from the Dominican Republic 26 years ago and setting up his own bodega has become the winner of the $338 million Powerball jackpot.
Pedro Quezada, 44, discovered his life had changed overnight when he went to Eagle Liquors in Passaic, New Jersey - the store where he buys a lottery ticket and two beers every day.
Eladia Vazquez, who has lived across the street from Quezada for the past 25 years, described the coupe as 'quiet and not overly talkative' but sensed that they seemed to be working all the time.
'This is super for all of us on this block,' she said. 'They deserve it because they are hardworking people.'Read more: Daily Mail
